Aluminium Bifold Doors and Casement Windows, Jericho, Oxford
Ashleigh had a new pitched kitchen extension to the rear of his house in Jericho, Oxford.
The design of the extension and doors required very specific planning to make sure that structure met building control regulations.
With so much glass going into a south-facing room, the most challenging aspect of our brief was to to manage thermal efficiency – the room has to retain heat when it’s cold, but not overheat in the sun.
Working closely with Ashleigh and his builder, we calculated the thermal requirements and built aluminium bifold doors and casement widows using solar control glass.
The result is a contemporary design that looks fantastic, manages the temperature and only took two days to install.
