Wood Sliding Door and Window Replacement, Burnett, Bristol

Tom came to us after finding out about our extensive experience with older buildings and our high quality timber windows and sliding doors.

The old sliding doors at his converted-barn home in Burnett, near Bristol, were in a dire state, they were difficult to open and close, and the paintwork, or indeed the entire doorstep, was cracked and rotted.

Tom wanted one of the sliding doors replaced, but the other was unnecessary for access and he decided to have it replaced by a large window instead. Similarly he wanted a fixed window in the kitchen converted into a windowed door.

These changes were well within our wheelhouse, and we were able to settle on a style with Tom which was elegant and modern but not out of place in such an old property. The installation took place over two days, and every step of the way great care was taken to make sure the new doors and windows sat perfectly within the 200 year old walls.

“We have just had two very large windows replaced (one of which is a sliding window from sitting room to garden) plus a fixed window converted into a fully opening window. We are very happy with the company and in particular the quality of the workmanship. Four guys came on the first day and two on the second day. They were all courteous, efficient and paid close attention to getting the details right, Not so easy in a barn conversion with walls that are nearly 200. If we replace any more windows we will certainly give first consideration to Woodcraft Windows and recommend them to anyone else wanting wooden windows.”
