Bill approached us to replace his ageing sliding doors, which had become drafty, difficult to operate, and no longer provided adequate security. The goal was to introduce a new set of hardwood sliding doors that would enhance both the appearance and functionality of their home — while complementing the existing window colour and improving energy efficiency.

The existing sliding doors had been in place for many years, and the hardware was outdated. The frames had warped over time, causing drafts and difficulty in operation. A key requirement was to ensure that the new doors not only fit perfectly but also matched the aesthetic of the existing windows, with a colour finish that tied the whole exterior together seamlessly.

We designed and manufactured bespoke hardwood sliding doors, using durable Meranti timber — chosen for its strength, stability, and excellent finish. The doors were factory-finished in a colour-matched coating to perfectly align with the client’s window frames, creating a harmonious and elegant exterior appearance. High-performance gaskets and weather seals were incorporated to eliminate drafts and improve energy efficiency.

We installed modern multi-point locking systems to significantly enhance security and the sliding mechanism was upgraded to heavy-duty, lift and slide running gear, ensuring effortless daily operation.

The transformation was outstanding. The new Meranti sliding doors not only looked stunning — with a rich, durable finish that matched the windows — but also offered vastly improved functionality. The smooth operation and tight seals immediately resolved issues of drafts and security concerns.
