Bespoke Arched Wooden Front Door, Headington, Oxford

A front door should do more than provide access to a home. It should complement the property’s character, offer security and create a welcoming first impression.

For Martin, the existing door was poorly fitted and no longer met the standard he wanted for his home. With its distinctive arched entrance, a standard replacement simply wouldn’t do justice to the property’s architecture. The solution was a bespoke timber front door, carefully designed to fit the opening and transform the entrance.

The distinctive arched entrance called for a door designed specifically for the property, rather than a standard off-the-shelf solution. Finished in Farrow & Ball Lake Red (W92), the bespoke timber door creates a striking contrast against the neutral render and traditional brick arch.

Glazed panels featuring safety glass allow natural light into the entrance, while traditional brass hardware adds a refined finishing touch. One particularly personal detail was Martin’s own door knocker, which he supplied to be fitted to the new door. Incorporating this familiar feature into the bespoke design helped make the finished entrance truly his own.

While the bold colour and bespoke design make the first impression, the door was also designed with everyday security and durability in mind. The engineered timber construction provides stability, while the multipoint locking system secures the door at multiple points along the frame. Combined with carefully finished detailing and safety glazed panels, the result is a door that brings together traditional aesthetics and modern functionality.

Replacing a front door doesn’t have to mean days of disruption. Our experienced fitting team carefully removed the existing door and installed Martin’s bespoke replacement in just one day, keeping disruption to a minimum. The result was a beautifully finished entrance, ready to be enjoyed immediately.

Martin’s new front door demonstrates how a bespoke replacement can do far more than simply replace an old one. The distinctive arch, bold Lake Red finish, traditional brass fittings and personal door knocker have transformed the entrance into a striking feature of the property. With a carefully considered design, modern locking features and a precise installation, Martin now has a front door that combines individuality, craftsmanship and everyday practicality.
