New Wooden Front Door for Edwardian Property, Bracknell

This project involved manufacturing and installing a bespoke inward‑opening timber entrance door with a top light, designed to suit the character of Verity’s Edwardian period home.

The door was crafted from engineered European redwood with an aluminium threshold and finished in Farrow & Ball Card Room Green (No. 79), chosen to complement the property’s heritage aesthetic.

The door included bolection mouldings, a raised and fielded panel, frosted glass with a clear border, polished chrome hardware, a Victorian letter plate, ringed door knob, and a spy hole.

The installation required removal of the existing metal weatherstrip and adjustment for a 10mm height difference on the left‑hand side of the frame.

Verity had this to say about the project:

“I live near to Ascot and got in contact with Woodcraft Windows regarding my entrance door which was getting increasingly drafty especially in the Winter months and wanted to make sure I got a quality door which Woodcraft Windows could offer with a 30 year warranty on their timber.

I decided to get the Bolection moulding which suited this type of large door with an etched top light to keep with the character of our Edwardian period house, a Farrow & Ball Card Room Green colour, which looks stunning and keeps with the period property.”

“Woodcraft Windows were 100% professional and friendly all the way from the initial visit to the installation all running smoothly and left my house spotless I couldn’t be happier. Thank you.”
