New Arched Timber Sash Windows, Harrogate
Helen lives in a lovely classic redbrick home in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Like so many in the area, the house features sash windows, including two beautiful arched sash windows and a pair of more traditional ones.
Since replacing the arched windows is a highly specialised job, Helen was looking for a reputable company with expertise in custom sash window crafting. That’s what we do best, so it was a perfect fit in every way.
The arched windows are cleverly designed – the outer frames follow the arched brickwork, but the opening sashes are rectangular on the inside. We had to take extremely precise measurements to replicate the existing arch whilst ensuring that the extra-deep box sash mechanism worked smoothly.
Having built the frames and sash units in our workshop, it was time to find out if the fit would be as good as we’d hoped. When we turned up on site they fitted perfectly, and we completed the entire installation – including all of the making good – within just two days.
