New Sash Windows, Hampstead
Mark reached out to us concerning the replacement of 11 sash windows in his top-floor mansion block apartment in Hampstead. The existing windows were difficult to open and extremely drafty—even when closed, interior doors would blow open or shut on windy days.
The project faced several challenges, from securing planning permission to navigating parking restrictions in the busy streets of central Hampstead.
Health and safety were the top priority. The apartment, located on the 4th floor, required the closure of the footpath and an additional person to ensure no one entered the hazardous area. Safety nets were installed to catch any debris, and communication was maintained via walkie-talkies. All communal areas within the apartment block were protected with dust sheets and carpet protectors where necessary.
“We can’t speak highly enough of Woodcraft Windows for their exceptional work replacing our windows in our fourth-floor flat above a narrow and congested street in a conservation area of Hampstead, London. From start to finish, they managed the project flawlessly—securing the necessary approvals, adhering to strict council guidelines, and completing the installation exactly on time and at the agreed price. Their team was professional and courteous, and meticulous when it came to managing dust, noise etc with respect to our neighbours, not to mention ensuring the safety of pedestrians on the busy street below. The windows are perfect and have reduced noise in our flat as well as our heating bills. Highly recommended.” – Mark, Hampstead
