Bay Windows, Casement Windows and French Doors, Beckley, Oxford

Margot reached out to us with plans for extensive window and door replacements for her old cottage on the outskirts of Beckley, Oxford.

Working with Margot and her builders we installed windows and doors at various times as the project progressed. We met with Margot at her cottage to measure up the bay window as part of the first steps and after visiting our warehouse in Haddenham to go through the process. The bay windows were installed following a final survey and manufacturing lead times a few months later at the cottage.

As the project progressed, we installed various flush casement windows and doors. The final part of the project so far has been to install an aluminium set of French doors to give a modern twist whilst keeping the look of a country cottage.

“One of the main features of our cottage is a bay window at the front. This window was tricky, as it had 5 different sized panels, and we wanted to ensure we were able to maintain as much light as possible. We choose Woodcraft as their design provided the maximum amount of light available, whilst still adhering to modern standard of double glazing. We are delighted with the result.

The rest of the cottage are casement windows that are in keeping with our traditional cottage. We choose a soft grey/green RAL 7032 that complimented the honey tones of the natural stone. They are wonderfully warm, after the previously single glazed windows.

The other major choice was the kitchen and the style of door to the garden. We chose a modern aluminium design, to replicate the Crittal look. Again, this choice was based on the amount of light that would be added. Our kitchen is north facing, so light was an important feature. We are delighted with the result. The perfect blend of modern with a country cottage kitchen. We matched the other windows and had them painted in RAL 7032.”
