Atika lives in a charming Grade II listed house in Witney, Oxfordshire.
As anybody who owns one will tell you, heritage homes are full of delightful quirks and features, but tricky when it comes to making improvements. Atika lives near a busy street, and her old rotten windows allowed the heat to escape and the noise to get in.
She wanted to improve energy efficiency and noise insulation, but the planning restrictions insisted that the character of the house was retained, so modern double glazing was out of the question.
Our solution was to build brand new windows that exactly match the originals but incorporate cleverly designed secondary glazing.
Now Atika has all the warmth and peace she needs, whilst maintaining the look of her heritage home and satisfying planning conditions.
