New Sash Windows in Conservation Area, Jericho, Oxford

This lovely example of a classic 19th Century three-storey townhouse in the sought-after district of Jericho in Oxford was undergoing renovation.

The building company, Power Builders, are a growing company and they were looking for a reliable partner to build and install high-end timber windows and doors. They chose us because of our reputation and track-record for delivering on time and within the quoted budget.

Because this part of Jericho is a conservation area, we were asked to deal with the council on our customer’s behalf. Our good friend Sam from Blackwater Studio helped us put in the elevation drawings, and once approval was granted, we were ready to deliver.

The old single-glazed sash windows were draughty and the box sash mechanisms were sticking. The original sash windows in Jericho use a very slim profile that is not easy to replicate when double glazing efficiency is required.

But this is our area of expertise, and our design closely matches the original sash window design.

We replaced the old windows with brand new, state-of-the-art, smooth operating box sash windows that meet the conservation guidelines and feature top-quality brass lockable sash window fittings.

The installation went smoothly and Power Builders are delighted with the result – contemporary security and comfort in heritage style.
