Stained Oak Entrance Door, Princes Risborough Baptist Church

At Princes Risborough Baptist Church, the brief was both clear and thoughtful: to replace the main entrance door in a way that respected the character of the building while improving everyday usability and security.

The church community sought a welcoming first impression—one that would feel consistent with the interior and support the steady flow of visitors.

Shortly after the initial enquiry, our sales representative, Phil, arranged an on-site appointment and gave careful attention to the client’s requirements. A key priority was to match the new entrance door design as closely as possible to the existing internal doors. This included glazed panels with specifically positioned glazing bars, creating a harmonious transition from outside to inside and reinforcing a sense of unity throughout the church.

The agreed solution was a pair of outward-opening French doors, crafted from oak and finished in ‘Light Oak Stain’ to complement the building’s natural warmth. The doors are fitted with double glazed units using clear toughened glass, allowing natural light to enhance the entrance while ensuring strength and safety.

Given the high level of daily use, durability and security were essential. The installation features a ‘lever multipoint lock’ system paired with a ‘SupaSecure’ lever handle, with all hardware finished in chrome. A low-profile aluminium threshold provides safe and convenient access, while 90° restrictors to both door leaves offer controlled and practical operation.

The result is a refined, secure, and welcoming entrance that faithfully reflects the church’s interior design, while meeting the practical demands of a well-used community space.
