Wooden Bifold Door and Timber Casement Window, Ruislip, West London
Mark had a brick-built outbuilding in the back garden of his 1920s home in Ruislip, West London. Like so many people nowadays, he wanted to create a separate office space in the garden so that he can work from home without disrupting his home and family life.
He called our Hampstead office to discuss ways to convert the outbuilding into a characterful room that he could work in that would remain in keeping with his home.
We suggested a full-length timber bifold door at the front and a timber casement window to the side, to maximise the flexibility of the room and allow in as much light as possible. We carefully matched the split-pane design of the doors and windows to the main house to further tie in the new garden office to his home.
The secure, double glazed doors allow him to fully open up the room in the summer to give a pleasant working environment but also keep in the warmth in the depths of winter.
