Wooden Stable Door and Rear Door with Fanlight, Leeds

Deborah lives in a charming old cottage tucked away in central Leeds. While full of character, the property requires ongoing care and maintenance. She contacted us in May to discuss replacing her external doors, which had become draughty and insecure due to outdated locks, and, in the case of the rear door, extremely difficult to operate.

The rear door was also coming away from its frame, leaving the household with limited access to the garden. To reach the rear, they had to exit through the front door and walk around the house.

Deborah had always dreamed of having a stable door, so when the time came to replace the main entrance, she naturally chose a traditional stable-door design. During the design process, she opted to keep the overall look similar to her original door, but with subtle improvements to both aesthetics and performance.

The installation went smoothly, even the trickier job of making sure the rear door was secure in its frame whilst also incorporating the replacement fanlight. Despite poor weather on the second day, our fitters continued without delay to complete the project.

Deborah was delighted with the quality and craftsmanship of the new doors. She now has her dream stable door at the front, along with full, easy access to her rear garden thanks to a properly functioning back door. She also praised the fitting team for being polite, hardworking, and leaving everything neat and tidy.

The installation was completed just in time for Deborah’s holiday, giving her peace of mind with solid, secure doors fitted with modern multipoint locking systems. She is now considering replacing her old uPVC windows with wooden ones—a project she plans to pursue next year.
