A prestigious private estate in the English countryside required high-quality, bespoke timber windows and doors to complement its traditional architectural style while integrating modern performance standards. The client sought a solution that would enhance the property’s aesthetic appeal, improve thermal efficiency, and provide long-term durability.
For this amazing project in North Heath, we were recommended to James by architect Sam from Blackwater Studio Architecture. The project required attention to detail and meticulous designing. With close cooperation with the architect, building team, and our customer, we managed to design and make to measure 3 timber flush casement windows, 2 timber entrance doors, 2 timber French doors, and 3 timber sash windows.
The windows and doors chosen are large and allow plenty of natural light to enter. The massive triangular window adds a unique touch to the design. In order to complete the job on time, we had to send two teams of our very experienced timber window installers. Another happy customer of ours.
Client Requirements:
- Custom-designed timber windows and doors to match the estate’s historical character
- High-performance glazing for improved energy efficiency
- Durable, sustainably sourced materials
- Smooth integration with existing stone and brickwork
- Enhanced security features without compromising the elegant design
Our Approach Understanding the importance of preserving the estate’s charm, we conducted a detailed site survey to assess architectural nuances. Working closely with the client’s architects and designers, we developed a range of bespoke window and door solutions using premium-grade timber.
Our team selected engineered European redwood timber, renowned for its durability and resistance to warping. Each window was crafted to exact specifications, featuring traditional sash and casement designs with advanced weatherproofing and thermal insulation. For the doors, we designed and installed solid timber entrance doors with multipoint locking systems, ensuring both security and sophistication.
Results & Impact:
- Enhanced the estate’s visual appeal with handcrafted, period-appropriate timber joinery
- Improved thermal performance, reducing energy costs by 30%
- Delivered long-lasting, low-maintenance solutions with sustainably sourced materials
- Seamless installation, ensuring perfect alignment with the estate’s historic facade
The project was completed on schedule, and the client was highly satisfied with the results, noting the exceptional craftsmanship and performance of the new windows and doors.
“We are very pleased with what Woodcraft produced for us. The quality, attention to detail, and professionalism displayed throughout the process exceeded our expectations…. and far better value than some of the other companies we had a quote from.”
