Keith and Terry bought this lovely 17th Century cottage in Watlington, and wanted to improve its energy efficiency.
They contacted us to see what we could do. After a careful examination and survey we suggested a heritage triple glazed solution that matches the visual style of the original windows whilst adding leading-edge modern sound and heat insulation.
As our casement windows can accommodate thicker glass without increasing the thickness of the frame, it was a perfect match for this situation. We also replaced the old front door with a sturdy, smooth-operating, secure timber door with the appropriate matching hardware, and a paint colour carefully chosen to match some of the glazed bricks in the walls.
To spread the cost and disruption of such a large project, they decided to split the work into two stages, so we dealt with the most dilapidated windows first and returned later to replace the rest.
