Timber Casement Windows and French Doors, Reading

The windows at Ric’s grade two listed farmhouse in Reading had long been overdue for replacement, they were single glazed and sapped heat from the home during the winter months.

Worse still was the heat lost through his old French doors, which Ric also thought were a security risk due to their dated locking mechanism. Ric’s main concern however was that any replacement of the casement windows and French doors would have to be in line with the regulations concerning grade two listed buildings.

He reached out to us, and from the initial visit he was already convinced that we were the right people for the job, having a depth of expertise and experience when dealing with window and door removal and installation for historical buildings.

We were also able to manufacture the windows and French doors to closely match what was already there, preserving the classic English country look of the property but with modern energy efficiency and security systems.

“From the initial visit Woodcraft Windows were very professional and understood what our expectations and requirements were for our grade two listed farmhouse. The cottage style casement wooden windows and French Doors all complementing the original designs with a modern equivalent to match the originals. I would highly recommend anyone who requires high quality wooden windows and doors to go to them, even if it’s a Grade 2 listed building like ours.”
